I have a 2 year old Mac Pro tower, with
regular hard drives.
I wanted to upgrade to SSD to increase the
performance. After doing research online I opted for the Angelbird Mac Pro SSD. I opted
for this, because it was cheaper than the Apple SSDs and better specifications.
It also is the only SSD on the market that comes with TRIM enabled. This is
very important since it keeps the performance of the SSD over time. Unlike with traditional hard disks,
it would be advantageous to tell the SSD when you delete files so that the SSD
could delete the pages at the time of the delete instead of performing the
entire block erase procedure when you want to write data. This is where the
TRIM function comes in. No
driver, software or TRIM Enabler is needed, works from the box.
The Angelbird Crest Mac Pro SSD cam
straight out of the box and was easy to fit and install. I used timemachine to
back up my old data and put it onto the new SSD.
The performance quality is
incredible; I had used SSDs before on a PC, so I was already aware of how fast
they are, but I'm mainly a Mac user, I use it a lot for graphics design such as
Photoshop and also sometimes playing with music software like Logic Pro. The
speed it opens up these programmes is amazing, you certainly don't have time to
make a cup of tea, you hit the button and it opens. More importantly, it makes
rendering stunningly fast.
I have had this in my Mac for a few months now, with
no problems. It's like a new machine and I certainly would recommend the
Angelbird Crest SSD for mac.
Crest for Mac Pro SSD comes with overload power
protection, power loss protection (UPS) and a three year warranty. This is very
important as it means my data is safe.
Angelbird is an Austrian company and a relatively new player
on the SSD market. They claim on their web site with the Angelbird Crest Mac
Pro you will gain maximum
performance with SSDs and you will never want to look back. I can certainly
confirm this is the case, and if you have a Mac Pro tower that you want to
spruce up and benefit from the speeds of SSDs then you need look no further
than the Angelbird Crest Pro SSD.
